Winners announced for the 8th Assia Djebar Grand Prix

The 8th edition of the Assia Djebar Grand Prix took place at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center, gathering various literary and official figures. Organized by ANEP, the event commenced with a tribute to the victims of the October 17, 1961, demonstrations in Paris. After months of evaluation by a jury led by Hakim Miloud, the awards were presented to Sarah Mohamed Mariche for her Arabic novel 'Er’rafraf', Farida Sahoui for her Amazigh work 'Aggus', and Hosni Kitouni for his French-language book 'Ce que la mort m’a pris de toi'. Out of 155 entries, these works were selected for their quality. The ceremony also featured musical performances and an art exhibition honoring Assia Djebar. Established in 2015, this biennial award remains Algeria’s most significant literary recognition.
