16-year-old RC Lens forward Mezian Mesloub has decided to represent Portugal at the international level. This decision closes the door on potential efforts by the Algerian Football Federation to secure the talent, who is the son of former international player Walid Mesloub. Eligible to play for France, Algeria, or Portugal, the left-footed winger chose to honor his maternal heritage, according to his grandfather. Unlike his father, who represented Algeria during his professional career, the teenager has already participated in Portugal's youth teams and is now firmly committed to the Lusitanian national setup.
