The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure has released details regarding the funding sources for the railway project connecting Laghouat to Tamanrasset. The first section, spanning 495 km between Laghouat, Ghardaïa, and El Meniaa, is funded by the African Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The second segment, covering 1,080 km from El Meniaa to In Salah and Tamanrasset, is fully financed by the state budget. The ministry also noted that ongoing consultations with international institutions concern other priority railway projects and urged media outlets to rely solely on official statements for accurate reporting.
