Administrative documents in Algeria: A guide to online services

Algeria has significantly advanced its administrative digitalization through the "Dzair Digital Services" portal (dzds.dz), inaugurated on July 5, 2026, by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Managed by the High Commission for Digitalization, the platform provides access to birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as social security records and tax documents. Since September 2026, users can also manage Sonelgaz bills and water connection requests online. Judicial documents, such as the criminal record (bulletin n° 3) and certificates of nationality, are accessible through dedicated portals that offer digitally signed PDFs. While some documents like residency certificates still require an in-person visit to local offices, the state continues to expand its catalog of online services. Authorities urge citizens to rely solely on the official dzds.dz domain and to avoid fraudulent third-party websites requesting personal data or payments.
