President Abdelmadjid Tebboune hosted Niger’s Minister of National Defense, General Salifou Modi, in Algiers to address regional security challenges. Parallel to this, General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP, held discussions with the Nigerien delegation regarding regional stability. General Chengriha highlighted the historical bonds between the two nations, noting that this visit builds upon the momentum created by President Abdourahamane Tiani's trip to Algeria. The Nigerien minister expressed his satisfaction with the level of multifaceted military coordination. Recognizing that security and development are linked, Algeria continues to support its neighbor against external interference and destabilization attempts. This support includes significant military assistance, such as the provision of Sukhoï Su-30 fighter jets, military helicopters, and equipment to bolster the Nigerien air force.
