Women's independence and the challenge of dual responsibilities

The nature of the challenges faced by women has evolved significantly compared to past generations. After decades of fighting for rights such as education, employment, and personal freedom, these achievements have led to a new reality defined by accumulated responsibilities. The core debate has shifted from the right to work or drive, to the struggle of balancing professional demands with domestic duties. Experts point out that women's newfound independence has collided with traditional social expectations that equate caregiving exclusively with women. Consequently, tools intended to provide freedom, such as a salary or a car, have paradoxically increased their daily workload. Despite professional successes across various fields, women are often expected to maintain traditional roles at home. There is a clear need to redefine familial duties to ensure that a woman's independence does not result in an endless cycle of additional, unshared burdens.
