During a ceremony in Algiers, Sahrawi Ambassador Khatri Addouh stated that national unity has been the cornerstone of the Sahrawi struggle over the past five decades, effectively countering attempts to dismantle their social fabric and obscure their right to self-determination. He asserted that the Sahrawi people continue to reject all forms of occupation and remain committed to their national goals. Referring to the 1975 International Court of Justice advisory opinion, he reiterated that no legal sovereignty supports the claims of the occupier. The ambassador called upon the United Nations and the Security Council to fulfill their mandates to end colonization. Furthermore, he demanded accountability regarding the fate of 600 missing individuals since 1975 and the release of political prisoners, while expressing gratitude for Algeria's consistent solidarity with the Sahrawi cause.
