The agricultural services directorate in Boumerdès is preparing to introduce 6,700 tons of stored off-season potatoes into local and neighboring markets. This effort, coordinated with private operators, aims to prevent supply shortages, control price fluctuations, and protect consumer purchasing power through a steady and systematic distribution process. In addition to this potato release, the region plans to supply 2,400 tons of dry garlic and 7,500 tons of dry onions currently held by various operators. This follows a previous successful effort last September, which involved placing 316 tons of potatoes from cold storage onto the market.
