A high-level ministerial delegation, led by Prime Minister's advisor Nazim Berarhi, visited the wilaya of Bejaia to explore the expansion of banana cultivation. The mission, supported by agricultural experts and technical institutes, aims to reduce import dependency by boosting domestic output. Following successful pilot projects in Souk El-Tennine, officials inspected several agricultural units in Tazmalt and Amizour, conducting soil tests and technical assessments. The regional authorities are now planning to expand these operations to communes such as Aokas, Adekar, and Boukhelifa. By leveraging private investment and optimizing greenhouse farming techniques, the region seeks to establish a sustainable and high-value agricultural sector.
