The President of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tiani, met with an Algerian technical mission at the end of their visit to express his appreciation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the swift response in providing expert assistance regarding the "Gomry W-8" oil well incident. The Algerian delegation, comprising specialists from the energy sector and Sonatrach, worked in Niger from October 12 to 19, 2026, to discuss emergency measures and environmental containment strategies with local officials. Nigerien ministers conveyed their thanks for this solidarity initiative, which underscores Algeria's ongoing commitment to sharing technical expertise and resources. This cooperation, driven by presidential directives, aims to support the development of the energy sector and foster mutual benefits through strengthened African partnership.
