On October 20, the Presidency of the Republic announced a partial reshuffle within the ranks of the Walis, following up on the broader administrative reorganization that took place in late September. Four existing Walis were reassigned to new provinces: Riad Benahmed to Aflou, Youssef Bechlaoui to Batna, Mohamed Meziane to Béjaïa, and Kamel Nouisser to Tlemcen. Furthermore, the authorities promoted three local administration officials to fill the remaining vacancies: Abdelwahab Zini, Redouane Khelifa, and Omar Bouthraoui. By prioritizing internal promotion, this movement aims to invigorate local governance and enhance the oversight of development initiatives across the various regions.
