French court overturns deportation order against Algerian national due to procedural errors
An Algerian national has successfully challenged an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) issued by the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture in June 2024. The Paris Administrative Court of Appeal ruled in his favor after identifying two factual errors made by the authorities: the prefecture had erroneously claimed the man had not sought regularization, despite him having submitted an application online five months earlier, and had incorrectly disputed his effective residence in France. Consequently, the court canceled the expulsion order and ordered the State to pay 800 euros in legal costs. The ruling underscores the significance of maintaining administrative documentation to contest inaccurate government decisions.
