Council of Ministers: Strict price control measures and progress on key infrastructure projects

Chairing a Council of Ministers meeting, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced rigorous measures to control the prices of essential goods and protect citizens' purchasing power. These actions include regulating intermediaries, investigating price manipulation in the imported meat sector, and establishing profit margin caps on basic foodstuffs. Local monitoring will be intensified through decentralized oversight by provincial governors and digital tracking systems. Furthermore, the meeting addressed major infrastructure projects, notably the mining railway connecting Bled El Hadba to the port of Annaba and the new line toward Tamanrasset. The government was also directed to expedite water supply from desalination plants in Chlef, Mostaganem, and Tlemcen, while simultaneously enforcing stricter regulations on groundwater well drilling.
