Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has requested an emergency parliamentary session to seek official authorization for military intervention, should Saudi Arabia request assistance to defend its security. Speaking at a military academy graduation, the President emphasized that Egypt is committed to the stability of Gulf nations and will not remain idle against regional threats. He clarified that any potential deployment would be defensive in nature, aimed at protecting the kingdom rather than initiating conflict. This follows previous assertions by the President that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region is vital to Egypt's own national security.
