Algerian Heritage Shines in Brussels: Hayek and Oranian Blouza Take Center Stage
The Association of Algerian Women in Belgium hosted a cultural event in the heart of Brussels, taking place at 'La Casbah' café and the iconic Grand-Place. The initiative was designed to promote Algeria's national identity and share its rich cultural heritage with the diaspora. The highlight of the event was a traditional fashion showcase featuring the symbolic white Hayek and the vibrant, intricately embroidered Oranian Blouza. Association President Faïza Othmani explained that the goal was to strengthen ties between Algerians abroad and their homeland. She emphasized that the Oranian Blouza is a significant cultural icon worn across various regions of Algeria, representing a living history passed down through generations. The event received widespread praise from both the Algerian community and visitors, who celebrated the beauty and historical depth of the traditional garments on display.
