Oran's Director of Education, Abdelkader Oubelaid, confirmed the opening of 20 new educational facilities for the 2026-2027 academic year, consisting of 10 primary schools, 8 middle schools, and 2 high schools. These projects aim to improve learning conditions, eliminate double-shift schooling, and cap class sizes at 30 students. Furthermore, five additional institutions—two high schools, two middle schools, and one primary school—are scheduled for completion by the end of December. Beyond classrooms, the province has also inaugurated 38 school canteens, sports facilities, and health monitoring units to better support the student population.
