Constantine: Cybercrime network dismantled for phone hacking and financial fraud

The cybercrime unit of the Constantine security services has dismantled a 10-member criminal network specialized in smartphone hacking and bank fraud. The suspects deployed malicious software disguised as television streaming applications to remotely take control of victims' devices and steal their banking credentials. The illicitly obtained funds were funneled through postal accounts and laundered via cryptocurrencies and illegal gambling activities. Furthermore, the network engaged in unauthorized money transfers and digital currency trading. During the operation, authorities seized cash, a significant amount of USDT, a luxury vehicle, and prohibited bladed weapons. The investigation revealed fraudulent transactions totaling approximately 6 billion centimes over a three-month period.
