Algeria condemns Colombia's opening of an embassy in occupied Jerusalem

Algeria has officially condemned the Colombian government's decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions concerning the legal and historical status of the city. Algeria emphasized that this action undermines the two-state solution and contributes to regional instability, hindering efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace. Furthermore, the country called on the international community, specifically the UN Security Council, to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt actions aimed at imposing a new illegal status quo in the occupied Palestinian territories.
