Dakar: Algeria Advocates for a Sovereignty-Based Approach to Human Rights and Development

The 89th session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights is underway in Dakar until October 21. Discussions cover critical continental issues, including detention conditions, nationality rights, the impact of conflicts, and the local processing of raw materials to foster economic independence. The Algerian delegation, headed by CNDH President Maya Fadel Sahli, is actively involved in these deliberations. Algeria advocates for a holistic perspective linking human rights to socio-economic development and national sovereignty. Rejecting the political instrumentalization of human rights, the country promotes South-South cooperation based on shared expertise and mutual respect, reaffirming its commitment to stability and human dignity across the continent.
