Algerian security services have dismantled an international criminal network in Oran, arresting 61 Moroccan nationals accused of planning acts of sabotage against national security. The suspects, including a former Moroccan soldier, entered Algeria illegally by crossing the Tunisian border through mountainous areas in El-Tarf before reaching Oran. Law enforcement authorities seized Moroccan passports and large sums of money in euros and dirhams during the operation, with the suspects now appearing before a specialized judicial center. This incident has raised concerns regarding the status of undocumented migrants in the country and suggests a potential shift toward stricter immigration controls, following the earlier decision to reinstate visa requirements for Moroccan citizens to mitigate security threats.
