Gulf-EU summit in Riyadh postponed due to security concerns

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, announced the postponement of the Gulf-EU summit previously scheduled for October 24 in Riyadh. In a statement released on Thursday, Al-Budaiwi explained that the decision follows ongoing attempts by the Houthis to target Saudi Arabia, which led to the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport to ensure the safety of the participants. A new date for the event will be coordinated between the GCC and the EU in the near future. Both sides emphasized their commitment to holding the summit to strengthen strategic ties and address shared concerns amidst rapid regional and global developments.
