Dr. Alexander Omenov from the Russian University of Medicine has identified three daily practices that may make individuals more susceptible to illness. These include sleeping with open windows during cold weather, which can lower body temperature even under blankets; wearing light clothing and improper footwear for the season; and consuming food or drinks directly from the refrigerator. While these habits are problematic, the doctor stresses that colds are fundamentally viral infections rather than direct effects of low temperatures. To stay healthy, one should wash hands frequently, ventilate indoor areas, stay away from sick individuals, and dress appropriately for the weather.
