Jijel: 627 families affected by wildfires receive support for housing reconstruction

Recovery efforts are underway in Jijel following the wildfires that occurred in late August. A partnership agreement has been established between eight real estate promotion offices (OPGI) and the National Housing Bank (BNH) to fund the rebuilding of damaged homes, in accordance with the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This initiative assists 627 families whose properties were deemed critically damaged (red category). The OPGI will manage the construction process, either directly or through contractors. Financial resources have also been allocated for the renovation of homes classified as less damaged (green and orange categories). Additionally, affected families will receive 400,000 DZD to cover temporary rental costs while reconstruction takes place, ensuring families have stable accommodation and that children can continue their education without disruption.
