As the November 28, 2026 local elections approach, Béjaïa is finalizing its logistical and administrative arrangements. The National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) has received 171 candidate lists, comprising 162 for Municipal People's Assemblies (APC) and 9 for the Wilaya People's Assembly (APW), involving both independent groups and political parties such as the FFS and RCD. To ensure a smooth process, Wilaya Secretary General Mohamed Mehdi led a high-level meeting with local officials and ANIE representatives. The focus is on preparing polling stations, security protocols, and technical equipment. Authorities have also arranged transport for voters in remote areas to ensure accessibility. The message remains clear: logistical efforts must be accelerated to meet the demands of the upcoming election day.
