The Algerian Sea Water Desalination Company (AEC), a Sonatrach subsidiary, has announced a technical shutdown of the Fouka 2 plant in Tipaza from October 18 to 22. The closure is part of the facility's annual maintenance program, designed to ensure long-term operational efficiency and equipment reliability. The operator emphasized that the shutdown is scheduled rather than a result of technical failure. The start date was postponed by one week following a request from the Algerian Water Company (ADE) to avoid overlapping with network maintenance in Boumerdès. Previously, the Corso and Cap Djenat 2 stations also underwent temporary suspensions; Cap Djenat 2 successfully resumed production on October 16. The close coordination between AEC and ADE remains essential to manage water distribution and minimize service disruptions for the public.
