Algeria's natural gas production rose by 4% in August 2026 compared to the same month last year, reaching a daily average of nearly 9.90 billion cubic feet, or a total of 8.688 billion cubic meters. This marks a steady performance, with monthly production remaining above 8 billion cubic meters since April. From January to August 2026, total production reached 71.31 billion cubic meters, a 4% year-on-year increase. Conversely, domestic gas consumption surged by over 15% in August to 4.849 billion cubic meters, primarily driven by a 110% spike in consumption for power generation. Regarding exports, total shipments of piped gas and LNG declined by 6.4% in August to 3.653 billion cubic meters. Specifically, LNG exports saw a significant drop of 30%, totaling 559 million cubic meters for the month.
