The Ministry of Culture and Arts has launched "The Premieres," a cultural program running from October to December 2026, designed to expand the distribution of Algerian films. This initiative aims to support the current growth in the national film industry by providing filmmakers with appropriate screening venues. The schedule features a diverse selection of feature films, shorts, and documentaries, including "Victime Zéro" by Amine Benammar, "Bela Bikoum" by Nadjib Oulbsir, "La main de Meriem" by Yahia Mouzahem, "Enadama" by Ahcène Ould Kaci, as well as documentaries like "Écran colonial" by Salim Aggar, "Algérie pour toujours 2" by Jean-Marc Minéo, "Capitaine Vassili" by Djamel Bendeddouche, and "Enigma" by Hakim Traïdia. These exclusive screenings will take place at prominent cultural landmarks, including the Cinémathèque of Algiers and the Algiers Opera house, with the Ministry encouraging the public to attend and support local cinematic production.
