Niger's President, General Abdourahamane Thiani, hosted an Algerian technical team upon the conclusion of their visit, conveying his thanks to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the swift assistance provided following the emergency at the 'Goumri W-8' oil well. The Algerian delegation, comprising specialists from the Ministry of Energy, Sonatrach, and ALNAFT, operated in the country from October 12 to 19, 2026. During their stay at the Agadem oil field in northeastern Niger, they worked alongside Nigerien officials to mitigate the environmental impact of the incident and implement necessary containment measures, highlighting the strong spirit of cooperation between the two countries.
