The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, announced that feasibility studies are underway for two wind power projects totaling 200 megawatts. This move is part of a national roadmap to diversify the energy mix and reach a 15,000-megawatt renewable energy target by 2035. During a budget presentation, the Minister highlighted the ongoing solar power program, which aims for 3,200 megawatts across 14 provinces, with 760 megawatts already integrated into the national grid. The strategy also includes off-grid initiatives to provide solar power to remote areas, agricultural irrigation systems, and public infrastructure, alongside plans to investigate geothermal and biomass potential.
