The Ministry of Interior and Market Regulation has launched a centralized digital platform to track unusual price spikes and enable proactive data analysis to prevent supply chain crises. Noureddine Haridi, a central director at the ministry, announced that the initiative promotes transparency by publishing wholesale and retail prices online and providing a mobile application for citizens to report price gouging. The strategy includes implementing price caps on essential goods like meats, vegetables, and legumes, alongside strict enforcement of invoicing systems to trace agricultural products from farms to consumers. Addressing market irregularities, the ministry reported that recent inspections uncovered 17 billion dinars in commercial fraud related to billing evasion. Efforts are ongoing to simplify legal procedures and curb speculative practices.
