The People's National Army (ANP) released its operational report for the period between October 14 and 20, 2026, highlighting significant achievements in maintaining security. Security forces thwarted attempts to smuggle over two quintals of treated kif across the Moroccan border and seized over 2 million psychotropic tablets along with one kilogram of cocaine, arresting 51 drug traffickers in the process. Regarding counter-terrorism efforts, military units recovered weapons and ammunition, while detaining 9 individuals accused of supporting terrorist groups. Additionally, operations targeting illicit gold mining in Tamanrasset and other southern regions resulted in the confiscation of mining equipment and vehicles. Regarding border security, coast guards intercepted 231 individuals attempting irregular maritime migration, and 412 illegal immigrants of various nationalities were apprehended across the country.
