The National Independent Authority for Elections has announced the final count of submitted candidate lists for the upcoming local elections, reaching a total of 6065 lists. These filings represent 162,864 candidates vying for seats in municipal and provincial people's assemblies. Specifically, 5631 lists were filed for municipal councils, comprising political parties, independent lists, and alliances, with 141,388 candidates. For provincial assemblies, 434 lists were submitted, involving 21,476 candidates. These figures represent a notable increase compared to the previous local elections held on November 27, 2021.
