The Paris Administrative Court has upheld a 10,000-euro fine imposed on Royal Air Maroc by the French Interior Ministry. The case stems from an August 2023 incident where a passenger arrived at Orly Airport from Casablanca using a French passport that did not belong to her. Upon inspection, French police identified clear physical discrepancies between the passenger and the original owner of the travel document. Although the airline challenged the penalty, arguing that the identity theft was not obvious enough to be spotted during boarding, the court ruled against the carrier. The judges concluded that the irregularities were manifest and should have been identified by the airline's staff, thereby failing to meet the required transport safety obligations.
