Ahead of the 8th Assia-Djebar Grand Prix for the novel, the Chaïb-Dzaïr bookstore in Algiers hosted a commemorative event focused on the renowned Algerian author's prolific career. Organized by the ANEP under the theme 'When memory becomes writing, voice, history, and transmission,' the session featured insights from academics Nabila Zouiche and Amar Guendouzi of Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi-Ouzou. Professor Zouiche explored the novel 'La femme sans sépulture,' noting Djebar's skillful portrayal of the martyr Zoulikha Oudaï through complex narrative techniques. Meanwhile, Professor Guendouzi analyzed the author's debut work, 'La soif' (1957), highlighting her bold focus on introspection. The speakers concluded that Djebar's work serves as a vital bridge for future generations, anchoring the national identity in a living memory.
