Kamel Moula: Algerian economy records strong growth while targeting unfair business practices

Kamel Moula, head of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, stated that the post-Covid era acted as a catalyst for a structural shift in Algeria, a trend acknowledged by the World Bank and the IMF. Addressing the President of the Republic, he noted that the real GDP growth rate is currently at 3.8%, with projections reaching 4% due to combined efforts by the state and private firms. Moula also addressed 'unacceptable practices' within the business sector, stressing that his council is committed to fighting illegal activities to ensure fair competition. Furthermore, he highlighted that achieving food and energy sovereignty was essential during the crisis, adding that the nation's economic strength lies in its dynamic institutional fabric and lack of external debt.
