The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has approved 510 new academic programs for the current university year. With 80% of these programs dedicated to science and technology, the ministry aims to align education with future job markets, including sectors like smart cities, space systems, and AI. A goal has been set to produce 30,000 engineers in artificial intelligence by 2030. The university ecosystem continues to foster innovation, resulting in the creation of over 310 startups and 2,660 micro-enterprises. Furthermore, a research center for industrial technologies is set to enter the Algiers Stock Exchange this November to raise capital. Efforts to expand the use of English in higher education also persist, with over 36,000 students graduating last year from programs taught in English.
