Agricultural authorities in the Tébessa wilaya expect a bountiful apple harvest this year, with output estimated at 62,662 quintals, averaging 130 quintals per hectare. This projection follows the expansion of cultivated areas, which reached 513 hectares this season, with 482 hectares currently in production. The municipalities of Safsaf El Ouesra, El Ma Labiodh, and Oum Ali have emerged as the leading hubs for this sector, which has attracted nearly 70 farmers over the past five years. The harvest features various types, including 'Galamima', 'Golden Delicious', 'Red Delicious', and the 'Ben Klidi' variety, which is gathered late in October and November. While the sector is showing significant growth, farmers emphasize the importance of addressing irrigation water availability and storage infrastructure.
