The Algerian karate team concluded its participation in the World Youth Championships in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, on Sunday without securing any medals. With 26 athletes competing, the team's top achievements were two fifth-place finishes by Messila Akkou in the cadet kata event and Serine Rezkallah in the junior under-66 kg category. Other representatives secured seventh and ninth places, while the remainder of the delegation was eliminated in earlier rounds. This performance marks a decline compared to the 2022 edition in Turkey, where Algeria achieved a historic fourth place in the overall standings with three gold medals. The results now highlight the need for a thorough assessment to prepare for future international challenges.
