2027 Finance Bill: New Tax Incentives for the Energy Sector

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, presented several fiscal measures during the discussion of the 2027 Finance Bill. The plan includes extending the value-added tax (VAT) exemption for electricity and gas production, transport, and marketing operations. Furthermore, the tax deduction rate for infrastructure projects related to green hydrogen and renewable energies will increase to 10%, with the inclusion of reforestation costs. Domestically manufactured electrical products intended for export are also set to be exempted from energy consumption taxes. Additionally, the responsibility for collecting fixed consumption fees has been transferred to the electricity and gas distribution company. The Minister emphasized that these measures are part of a broader strategy to establish a national energy consumption model, aimed at ensuring long-term energy security and a sustainable transition.
