National Addressing System: 1.5 Million Official Addresses Recorded

Amal Djamel, Director General at the Ministry of the Interior, announced that 1.5 million unified official addresses have been recorded across 12 provinces as part of the national project for geographic addressing. During a study day held in Oran, she stated that the initiative aims to cover all 69 provinces by 2030, with 13 additional provinces included in the 2026 state budget. Oran stands as a pilot model with over 413,000 addresses processed. This digital transformation project aims to assign unique identifiers to buildings and properties, facilitating precise navigation, assisting emergency and security services, and supporting the development of smart cities.
