The National Independent Authority for Elections has released the final figures regarding the candidate lists submitted for the municipal and provincial assembly elections scheduled for November 28, 2026. The authority reported the filing of 5,371 party-backed lists, 239 independent lists, and 21 coalitions, involving a total of 141,388 candidates. Regarding the provincial popular assemblies, 434 lists were recorded, consisting of 405 party lists, 24 independent lists, and 5 coalitions, with 21,476 candidates running. The process is now moving into the administrative review phase to determine the final list of approved candidates for the race.
