President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has unveiled a strategic vision aimed at transforming the national economy, anchored by major infrastructure and industrial projects. Key initiatives include connecting Tamanrasset to the national rail network by the end of 2028 and completing the trans-Saharan highway linking Algeria with Chad, Niger, and Mali by 2027. In the industrial sector, the government targets the production of a 100% locally manufactured car by late 2028. Agriculture also remains a priority, with a goal to achieve grain self-sufficiency by 2027. The President highlighted that Algeria has ceased gasoline imports since 2023 and is moving towards kerosene exports. With a robust growth rate outside the hydrocarbon sector, Algeria now stands as Africa's third-largest economy.
