The second Algerian Couscous Festival kicked off on Thursday at Tamaghra Park in Tizi-Ouzou, featuring over 150 participants from across the country. Guided by the theme "Couscous brings us together," the event highlights the diversity of this culinary tradition through displays, tastings, and workshops. Organizing committee president Idir Saoudi described the festival as a meeting centered on national identity. Habi Hassan, representing the Tourism Directorate, emphasized that the event is crucial for protecting the country's culinary heritage against foreign appropriation claims. The three-day program includes craft exhibitions, youth workshops, and the "Golden Grain Trophies" cooking competition.
