Boosting Economic Partnership Between Algeria and India

The chambers of commerce of Algeria and India have signed a memorandum of understanding to bolster investment and trade cooperation. The signing ceremony took place via videoconference, attended by the ambassadors of both nations and key trade officials. Represented by Tayeb Chabab and Dr. Siddiq Ahmed from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the agreement aims to foster information exchange and business partnerships. With bilateral trade reaching $1.71 billion during the 2024-2025 fiscal year, both countries are focusing on expanding their economic ties into sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, agriculture, and mechanical equipment, as part of Algeria’s strategy to increase its presence in global markets.
