Boosting Algerian Exports: Food Industry Showcase in Blida

Blida is currently hosting the 'Made in Algeria' food industry fair at the Mustapha Tchaker sports complex, bringing together around 100 public and private firms until October 20. The event highlights the nation's manufacturing capabilities and seeks to explore new export opportunities. Economist Sami Kolli noted that the fair serves as a vital platform for businesses to exchange expertise and form partnerships. The opening ceremony saw significant diplomatic interest, with the Tanzanian ambassador expressing his country's intent to import Algerian cooking oil and dates, and the Chinese ambassador inviting local producers to enter the Chinese market. The event also features support mechanisms, including banks and insurance companies, to assist enterprises—many of which are already exporting to nations like Saudi Arabia, Spain, Canada, Libya, and Senegal—in scaling their production and global footprint.
