Port workers worldwide plan protests against arms shipments to Israel
Labor unions representing workers at 100 ports across 17 countries are preparing for coordinated protests on Friday, October 30, demanding an end to the transit of weapons and military supplies destined for the Zionist entity. Operating under the slogan "Port workers do not work for war," the protesters aim to pressure shipping firms and trade institutions by refusing to handle military equipment used in the conflict against Palestinians. The initiative is led by the "Port Workers in Action" coalition, in alignment with the "No Harbour for Genocide" campaign supported by the BDS movement. Italy and Greece are expected to be hubs for the demonstration, with 24-hour strikes planned at key Italian ports and the Greek port of Piraeus, a critical maritime logistics center.
