Protest in Brussels demands self-determination for the Sahrawi people
The Sahrawi community in Belgium, in collaboration with the "Sahara is not for sale" association, staged a protest in front of the European Parliament in Brussels. Participants called for the immediate release of Sahrawi prisoners and reaffirmed the Sahrawi people's inalienable right to self-determination and independence. The event took place ahead of the UN Security Council's upcoming discussions on the MINURSO mission, serving as a rejection of attempts to cement colonial rule. Speakers highlighted the plight of "Gdeim Izik" prisoners who conducted hunger strikes against human rights abuses. The protest emphasized the unwavering support for the Polisario Front and the commitment to pursuing the national cause on the global stage.
