The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has unveiled plans to establish a national doctoral school specialized in artificial intelligence, connecting three higher schools of computer science in Algiers, Béjaïa, and Sidi Bel Abbès. The program will offer 102 academic positions as part of the country's national AI strategy. The fifth multisectoral meeting on this initiative also focused on creating linguistic models for tax legislation, developing joint funding mechanisms with economic partners, and preparing a specific national research program, with project calls scheduled to begin in November 2026.
