Algeria's Minister of Hydraulics, Lounes Magramane, chaired a meeting in Algiers to track the progress of connecting new seawater desalination plants to the supply network, focusing on the provinces of Chlef, Mostaganem, and Tlemcen. This action follows directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during the recent Council of Ministers meeting. The Minister urged for the swift completion of technical and organizational procedures to ensure these projects are realized promptly. He added that expanding this infrastructure to other regions will be based on specific technical studies of local groundwater and surface water resources. The initiative aims to enhance public access to drinking water and strengthen the nation's water security.
