An investigative report has exposed Nacerdine Trahi, a Moroccan drug trafficker based in Belgium, for investing millions of dollars into high-end real estate in Dubai. Between 2019 and 2021, Trahi purchased six properties worth a total of $6.2 million, exploiting gaps in regulatory oversight. The individual is a known figure in the Belgian "The Turtles" criminal network, which specializes in cocaine smuggling through the port of Antwerp. Despite facing multiple convictions in Belgium for drug trafficking and money laundering, Trahi reportedly managed his illicit operations from Dubai using encrypted communication tools. This case underscores the ongoing difficulties faced by international authorities in tracing and seizing assets moved across borders by organized crime syndicates.
